Public can help better illuminate Simmons Field
LimaOhio, February 1, 2014Simmons Field is headed for a facelift.
The ballpark has had several upgrades over the years, including major renovation when the Lima Locos moved from Shawnee High School in the summer of 2008.
The upgrade is scheduled to include new lights, new dugouts and entire new fencing.
The lighting project is tied in with AEP Ohio’s incentive-award program.
“It’s the AEP energy challenge,” Lima’s director of parks and recreation and forestry Ric Stolly said. “It’s a pilot program with three cities in Ohio, Lima, Louisville and Newark.”
