Mississippi Power customers have eight new paths to energy efficiency

Fierce Energy, June 6, 2014

With the approval of the Mississippi Public Service Commission, Mississippi Power is rolling out eight new energy efficiency programs, which will provide a variety of incentives to residential and commercial customers.

In a 2011 report by report released by Ceres and MJ Bradley & Associates, Mississippi Power was ranked in the bottom 10 out of 50 electric utilities for its energy efficiency efforts, including the amount of money invested in energy efficiency and program success.

“The expansion of programs will add immediate value and enhance our established offerings such as home energy audits and low-interest rate financing on energy efficient home improvements,” said Jeff Franklin, Mississippi Power’s customer services organization vice president. “We believe these new programs will encourage our customers to use energy wisely to get the most out of their energy dollar, especially during the summer months.”
