Southeast energy efficiency boosts job market
Fierce Energy, July 1, 2014Every million dollars invested in the Southeast’s energy efficiency sector from 2010 to 2013 resulted in the creation of just over 17 jobs — the highest figure for any sector analyzed within the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance’s (SEEA) Pro3 reports.
Based on an independent analysis conducted by the Cadmus Group, SEEA’s third Energy Pro3 Report compares the actual jobs created through the SEEA’s energy efficiency retrofit consortium programs to jobs that would have been created through investments of the same magnitude in each of the trade and services sector; the construction sector; the renewables sector; the energy generation, distribution and transmission sector; and the manufacturing sector.
