Energize Connecticut Recognizing Program Success in Local Towns

Local towns recognized for participating in clean energy initiative

Bethany, Woodbridge and Orange were among 35 municipalities recently recognized at the State Capitol for their participation in the statewide Clean Energy Communities program, an Energize Connecticut initiative.

Each of the three BOW towns received $5,000 as a “Bright Idea Grant,” an incentive to support energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The grant amounts were based on the level of community participation in Energy Efficiency Fund programs. Bright Idea grants ranged from $5,000 to $15,000 and can be used toward a community-selected energy-saving project.
