Cincy program could boost energy efficiency projects
Cincinnati, March 11, 2014Regional economic development groups and the city of Cincinnati want to move forward with a program that aims to spur energy efficiency and renewable energy investments in buildings.
The Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance and the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority are promoting a financing plan to help building owners who want to make upgrades. Officials told a City Council committee Tuesday the program could have a big economic impact especially within the construction sector.
However, it may take some time before the program – known as PACE, for property assessed clean energy – is placed into service.
