5 Ways Zondits Celebrated Energy Efficiency Action Week

Last week (December 7-13) was designated as “Energy Efficiency Action Week” by the EPA. Since we here at Zondits pretty much eat, sleep, and breathe energy efficiency, we’ve taken note of a few places that go above and beyond the simple list of energy-saving tips. Here are our five favorite suggestions for you to celebrate energy efficiency.

  1. Play the Candy Crush-inspired lightSWITCH and other efficiency-themed games at ComEd’s Smart Ideas Game Arcade.
  2. Gift-wrap an LED A-lamp for that friend of yours who’s been stockpiling incandescent bulbs.
  3. Check out this awesome M.I.A. “Paper Planes” parody about all things efficiency: “Double Panes”. This record’s going LEED platinum, y’all.
  4. Peruse the Green Building Advisor’s list of “stupid” energy tips. Do you agree? Disagree? We enjoyed the suggestion of using pets instead of an infrared camera to figure out where there might be heat loss (based on their avoidance of cold areas).
  5. Play energy efficiency bingo. No, really. How come your utility didn’t think of this as a marketing strategy?
